Friday Intro: Holiday Style
Happy Friday Babes!
It’s Friday Introduction time around here - Holiday Style!
The Holiday edition of Friday Introductions is obviously in coalition with the Official Bmore Babes Holiday Party next week! Did you know that tickets dropped to $35? That’s literally HALF the price…anyway. I’ll dive into that more later.
If you follow me on my personal page, @hopezillla - you know that I LOVE the holidays. My grandmother was the woman who got the Christmas tree out of the closet after thanksgiving dinner was cleaned up. I get it honestly. After thanksgiving dinner Josh and I went on the hunt for our perfect christmas tree, and best believe we found it. Yes, I know it’s not December yet but I am just an extra individual and I tend to run with it. *insert shrugging blonde emoji"*
In our house we celebrate Hannukah and Christmas, I also acknowledge there are a lot of different way to celebrate the holidays and a lot of things to celebrate. This is just how we do it. <3
So, my first favorite thing about the holidays is decorating. It was a tradition that was passed down to me, and it brought my Grandmother so much joy to decorate, and watch my eyes twinkle with wonder as we turned on the lights every night. The decorations meant it was the most wonderful time of year. Everyone was nice, happy and generally the holiday spirit that comes with the festivus is my favorite.
My second favorite thing about the holidays is giving gifts. Cyber Monday is currently being delivered to my apartment as we speak and wrapping is under way! I absolutely love spoiling J. I know that Christmas isn’t about the number of gifts, or amount of money you spend, but the act of giving of yourself to another person you love, with thought. That’s so special.
Crafts! Activities! Just plain old excuses to spend time doing things together is my third favorite thing! I love making cookies, over and over and over again. I love making gingerbread houses, decorating ornaments, wrapping gifts, watching Christmas movies for 25 days in a row, getting matching pajamas and so much more! The best part about the holidays is spending time with the ones you love. Being present in the moment and enjoying the magic in the air.
I urge you this holiday season to allow yourself to take the time off, celebrate, and experience the holidays exactly however feels good to you. If that means three parties in a week, and then nothing after that, or just not committing to anything other than family functions - do what is soul food for you.
From day one, it has been Bmore Babes intention to host inclusive gatherings for all women in Baltimore, and the Holiday Season felt like just as good a time as any. Our goal will always be to provide a safe space for the women to come together and network while doing something fun. Whether that is dancing in your pjs, doing yoga brunches or learning about how to build a brand, Bmore Babes is here to develop a community for all of us to interact, grow together and support one another. The other day, we did a little growing ourselves. We realized that the cost and expenses of our holiday party were not going to be met at the current ticket rate. We thought we were going to have to cancel the event. With a stroke of graciousness, and perhaps the holiday spirit, Mimi Nguyen sponsored her venue Habitat Seya for us to host the party. Full Circle Artisan Palace have sponsored doughnuts. Topshelf Mobile Bartenders is donating their time and their license to make us some incredible cocktails. And more to announce soon! But these generous sponsorships and belief in Bmore Babes is the reason why we were able to drastically decrease the price by literally half.
Special thanks to all the vendors who were involved in our plan and donated so much of their time and services to the cause:
